Affiliate Program Terms

Please review these terms carefully before joining our affiliate program.

1. Program Overview

The Department of Trouble Affiliate Program ("Program") allows approved participants ("Affiliates") to earn commissions by referring customers to purchase Department of Trouble products. By participating in this Program, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Commission Structure

Commission Rate

Commission rates are negotiated individually with each affiliate based on audience size, reach, and content type. Your specific rate will be confirmed upon approval.

Important: Net Profit Basis

Commissions are calculated on net profit, not gross sales. This means your commission percentage applies to the profit remaining after all costs are deducted, including: product costs, fulfillment fees, shipping expenses, payment processing fees, taxes, and any applicable discounts or refunds.

  • -Commission is calculated on net profit after all business expenses
  • -Product costs, fulfillment, shipping, and fees are deducted first
  • -Refunded orders generate no commission
  • -Your rate is displayed in your affiliate dashboard after approval

3. Payment Schedule

Commissions are paid out on a monthly basis:

  • -Commissions are calculated at the end of each month
  • -Payments are issued within 15 days of month end
  • -Orders must be fulfilled and not refunded to count

Minimum Payout Threshold: $25 USD. If your balance is below the minimum, it will roll over to the next month.

4. Payment Methods

Commissions can be paid via:

  • -PayPal (preferred)
  • -Bank transfer (for balances over $100)

You are responsible for providing accurate payment information and for any applicable taxes on your commission income.

5. Approval Period

All conversions go through a 30-day review period before being approved for payout. This allows time for orders to be fulfilled and for any refunds or disputes to be processed. Refunded orders will not generate commissions.

6. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination and forfeiture of pending commissions:

  • XSelf-referrals (using your own code for personal purchases)
  • XIncentivizing code usage with cash, gift cards, or other compensation
  • XBidding on Department of Trouble branded terms in paid search advertising
  • XCreating fake reviews or misleading content about our products
  • XSpamming or unsolicited promotional messages
  • XCookie stuffing or other fraudulent tracking methods

7. Brand Guidelines

When promoting Department of Trouble products, you must:

  • -Clearly disclose your affiliate relationship (e.g., "This is an affiliate link")
  • -Accurately represent product features and quality
  • -Not make false claims or guarantees about results
  • -Use only approved marketing materials and accurate product information

8. Termination

Either party may terminate participation in the Program at any time for any reason. Upon termination:

  • -Pending approved commissions will still be paid according to the normal schedule
  • -Pending (unapproved) commissions may be forfeited if terminated for policy violations
  • -Your affiliate code will be deactivated immediately

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Affiliates will be notified of material changes via email. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
